Who is this and why is she challenging my senses with GIFs, you wonder. I once called myself a Runway Renegade since I took an uncalculated detour from a career in design to write, and also because it sounded cool for an Indian who grew up a rebel (but under the radar, mostly) in Saudi Arabia.
I spent the majority of my childhood in the 90s behind closed doors reading and pretending to be an artist. So when the time came to choose a career path, I chose Fashion Design.
It was a chance encounter with a fashion editor from Marie Claire which led to my first published feature as a stylist and writer. A happy distraction from my 9-to-6 job as Product Head at Jockey (yes, the underwear company), where besides their clothing lines, I also successfully developed kidney stones from not drinking enough water. Please stop for a sip of water here.
From editorials to my first content role in an E-commerce venture in 2012, it was a natural evolution into writing with a design approach.
Now having worked with in-house teams, start-ups, and agencies, what keeps me going is the potential to shift perceptions and influence change. And this is where I like to apply my interest in human behaviour and languages with their many nuances, and integrate my background in design to create compelling communications, both from a visual and verbal perspective, helping brands say what they want to say as effectively as possible.
