Reintroducing the Dubai Opera with a new identity


The UAE’s singular destination for performing arts lacked an identity, a definitive claim that would establish their presence and emphasise their vision.

Dubai Opera sees itself as a point of intersection, a place where artists and art forms from all over the world converge. It was imperative to them to identify themselves as the one place where cultures come together. To derive and define this new identity, I researched how other opera houses positioned themselves and created a slogan that now represents Dubai Opera – House of Cultures.

A play on the nomenclature itself. Dubai Opera unlike most opera houses is not named as Dubai Opera House, and the need to embody “cultures” and be a welcoming place where everybody from everywhere can gather was how ‘House of Cultures’ originated.
